I inwardly chuckled. “Ah, you forgot to add hot and famous to the whole asshole trademark.”

Dane’s eyes were downturned, looking for more alcohol in his drink, as I stared at his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down. His reply was simply, “Touché, my hot and famous asshole of a pain in my ass.”

And when I thought he was about to walk away from me, his beautiful wife snuck up behind him, wrapping her slim ivory arms around his waist with a glass of red wine in her hands. “Ah, well, looky here,” she crooned. “You were the last person I expected to see at Haven’s party tonight.”

A tap on my shoulder had me turning around when my Mckenna finally showed up. “Shit, I need this. Great timing.” I took a large gulp and narrowed my eyes at Curly Sue. “Funny you say that, my sweet beauty. I was about to ask your hubby what you two were doing here. Again, you both claimed you weren’t into one-night stands.”

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Haven approaching us. “Ah, my dears. You three have met! I’m so glad. I actually thought all of you would make a wonderful match. Certainly beautiful, the three of you together.”

It hit me now. I wasn’t at the right event. “But I thought you’d be here tomorrow, Miles. I didn’t think this was your crowd.”

It didn’t take long to connect the dots. I came on the wrong fucking night. “Shit, this is your party for sad saps looking for commitment.” She grinned, and I wouldn’t put it past her to have had misled me. Haven had on many occasions told me to find my happy ever after. No, I wouldn’t put all my eggs in the same basket after those two motherfuckers destroyed my life all those years ago.

Cami and Dane were smiling like Cheshire cats, and I didn’t look away from them. Cami began to lick her bubble gum pink lips, biting the bottom one. Dane’s relaxed demeanor became a little stiffer, standing straight. He tried to adjust himself, and I hoped I was the reason he had to move his cock. Oh, shit, now the thought of him made my own cock come to life.

“Well, Miles, you’re welcome to stay. You know what I say. Playing is fun, but it won’t last forever.” Haven gave me a little smirk, leaving us alone.

“You two want to get out of here?” I asked. Fate had given me another chance, and I didn’t plan to let them out of my sight until I was mashed between them.

“Nothing’s changed, Mr. Famous. We’re not looking for a quick fuck.” Dane stood taller, and hell, I wanted to know what was underneath his tux.

Curly Sue looked at her husband, and stammered, “Mr. Famous?”

“Ah, you already have a term of endearment for me, Grumpy Gus.” Taking one more swallow of liquid courage, I began, “So you don’t want a quick fuck. Okay, but I’m here, and you’re here. Want to go sit down or maybe take a walk by the gardens of Haven’s beautiful estate? I promise, no roving of hands and swapping of bodily fluids—yet.”

Dane searched his wife’s eyes and she shrugged her shoulders. “I have a better idea. How about we sit in the sun room that looks out over Haven’s beautiful estate, with a bottle of wine? You okay with this, Cam?” he asked, looking at his wife first, and she agreed to his little plan. Then he returned his attention to me. “You drink wine, Mr. Famous?”

“Yeah, let me grab the waiter and tell him what we want, and then I’ll be out there.” I watched them as they walked away. Oh, who the hell was I kidding? I watched both of their fine asses, and shit, did they ever have fine asses.

Haven approached me. “You going to make a move?”

This little vixen did this to me on purpose. I let it go because Have and I went back a ways. “You know, Have, I can’t give them what they want.” I let her see the sometimes more redeeming qualities in me.

“It was twenty years ago. Times have changed, and Cami and Dane—they’re some of the good ones.”

I attempted to wave down one of the waiters. She grabbed my arm, lowering it. “I’m serious, Miles. I worry about you. You can’t continue to live your life like the asshole most think you are.”

“Those people would be onto something,” I teased.

She slapped my arm. “Don’t act like an asshole with me.” I gave her a little salute. “You’re a jackass.” She giggled, pulling my head to her. “What do you need? I’ll get it for you and bring it to the sun room.” Though, it was certainly not sunny, it was a warm and private place to be.

How did she know … but I didn’t ask. It was Haven, after all. “Your best bottle of red and a tray of cheeses, grapes, and crackers.”

With a little curtsy, she replied, “I’m here to serve, Mr. Sterling. Go find Cami and Dane and give them a chance. You won’t be sorry.”

I contemplated her words on the way to the terrace. Could I trust again?

Their hands were intertwined, and I stopped, my gaze on those two. I suspected I was interrupting an intimate moment. His hand was on her upper arm, rubbing it tenderly, placing the sweetest kiss on her nose. I’d not been privy to this type of affection in a long time.

When I cleared my throat, they turned toward me. “Hey, where’s our wine?” Dane almost demanded.

“Haven is on it.” And on cue, the waiter delivered the wine and our little platter of treats. The sly gal had added some little chocolates to the side.

“You think of everything, don’t you?” Dane’s accusatory tone only encouraged me to get to know more about this man who might be just as big of an ass as I was.

“Yeah, that extra part is all Haven.” I took a deep breath. “So, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory. Tell me something about yourselves.”

Curly Sue’s eyes were the first to focus on me. I was almost lost in her smoky gray beauties. “Well, Dane and I are both lawyers. Although I have a more important job nowadays.”

The velvet red wine flowed down my throat so easily when Dane continued. “Cami stays at home with our two daughters.”

The smooth wine no longer went down effortlessly, when I began to choke. Dane was the one laughing at me while Cami stood quickly, coming over to pat my back. “You okay?”

“Um, yeah.” I put down my wine. “So girls, you say?”

Dane leaned back in his chair, a full out and out smile showing me his pearly whites. “So that freaked you out, did it?” he asked.

I didn’t miss the sneer his wife gave him. “We have two girls. Maggie is almost five, and Bridget is two,” she explained.

Now, it was my time to swallow the entire glass of wine. “I wasn’t expecting you two as parents. I guess, in this lifestyle, I know polyamorous relationships have children, but I’d always been confused as to how it worked.”

“Yeah, we had a plan, and it wasn’t what we had both envisioned when it fell apart.” Dane lifted his wine in a mock salute. Ah, the hurt in his piercing browns was easy to distinguish. It was the same look I’d had in my eyes for the past twenty years.

“So, I’d tell you something about me, but I’m sure you know,” I started.

Dane shrugged at Cami, exchanging a similar look, staring at one another. Cami turned from her husband after a beat or two when she asked, “We know the media’s story. But I’m sure there’s truth missing from it.” Cami’s tone was so calming. She was sitting close to her husband again on the other side of the round wrought-iron table.

“I’d fallen for two men. I thought we were in love, but when their careers were threatened, they denied it all. Everything. And because Hollywood is a dog eat dog world, I moved to New York and worked as a producer on films and Broadway.”

“He’s not always an asshole,” Dane teased, talking straight to his wife.

Cami playfully slugged him. “Don’t act like assholes aren’t your kryptonite, Daniel James Gregory.”

I cocked my head to one side. My body was on the edge of the chair, ready to pounce because the sexual electricity was physically carnal. “You like assholes? Is that right, Mr. Daniel James Gregory?”

My husband turned to me, and his sneer matched mine. The glint in Miles’s eyes told me he’d be ribbing my hubs, too. The actor’s lips turned up into a radiant smile when he began, “You like assholes? Is that right, Mr. Daniel James Gregory?” This man, the silver fox he was, moved his body toward us, caging us both in.

“Yeah, I find them a challenge. It’s sort of a turn-on.” Dane exuded all the confidence in the world, from walking with his head held high to looking others directly in the eyes. He commanded it in his job, but I knew he was putting on a good show for Miles.

Dane, too, was leaning forward, his elbows on the wrought iron. I watched as his own inner struggle was painted so brightly on his face. “So, tell me, Curly Sue and Sexy Lawyer Man, what is it you’re looking for?” Miles’s upbeat tone didn’t waver, but in it was a confidence that told Dane and me he had one goal tonight—us.

Dane’s jaw was locked, his stare intense, and his leg shaking under the table. We didn’t talk about Jack. Actually, Jack would probably be the last thing we’d share with another man, at least for now.

“We have a family,” I began. “That part you know. They’re our world. But we’ve been in polyamorous relationships before, and it’s something we miss. I love the attention of two men, and Dane, well, he loves the touch of a man.”

My husband was still quiet, but his eyes were engaged with Miles’s eyes and didn’t leave his gaze. But soon, he turned his attention to me. “So you want a commitment?” Miles clarified.

I was on the edge of answering him, when Dane patted my thigh under the table. “Eventually, I guess, but we’re open to dating someone for a while to see if it would work with our unique dynamic.” Those were the strong words of my husband.

Miles let out a deep and sexy chuckle. “Wow, this is a lot to take in.” When Dane’s declaration didn’t strip Miles’s bri
ght grin from his face, I wouldn’t have thought it affected him much.

Deciding to take matters into my own hands, I walked toward him and a little growl left my husband’s lips. I was less than six inches from Miles’s beautiful, chiseled jaw and saw a little more silver peeking through his five o’clock scruff. I placed my hand on his chest and through the dress shirt, our chemistry sparked with my mere touch. “Is this a lot to take in?” My free fingers reach for his scruff and it was intoxicating over my palm. “Is this a lot?” I asked again, taking my other hand and unbuckling his belt under his tux jacket.

His glare looked past me at who I assumed was Dane. “Is this all right with you?”

I didn’t hear a reply, but when Miles pulled back a piece of my curly hair, placing kisses around my collarbone and up my neck, I assumed Dane had given him permission. I wasn’t surprised. Dane loved watching another man please me as much as he loved another man pleasing him.

“Want to go someplace a little more secluded?” Miles asked, but before any agreement could be made, my husband’s strong arms wrapped around me from behind. I didn’t miss how his hands went for Miles’s belt, too.

“I don’t care about being seen because I’m an open book, but then again, I would love to have some privacy with you two,” Miles clarified, moving his hand past me to Dane.

“One condition?” The stern pitch of my husband had Miles’s gaze moving past me to what I assumed was Dane’s eyes behind me.

  “Just one?” Miles clarified.

“For now, Mr. Famous.” Miles’s deep timbre when he laughed affected Dane as I could sense his shiver behind me.

“Okay. What is this one condition you speak of?” His words have me teetering on hysterics and lust.

“Whatever happens tonight, you agree to see us again. Seven dates.”

This stopped Miles in his tracks. “No more commitment after that?”

“Nope, seven dates is all I ask. But if you realize we aren’t for you, then we’ll be done. We have our children to think about.”

His gaze stayed on me. “And what about you, Curly Sue? You okay with this?”

I nodded. “Yeah, it’s a great idea,” I added, my hand still on Miles’s chest.

“And,” Miles said, “what about sex during this time?”

“I won’t say no, but I’m not saying yes either. Sure, I have no doubt you’ll fuck us and fuck us well tonight, but after this, it’s about tearing down some barriers, and if we do, then we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.”

A crooked grin covered Miles’s face. Hell, it was both arrogant and sexy as sin combined into one brilliant smile. “So you think I’m a done deal tonight?” I nodded my head when he continued. “I’ll agree to this because I need you both so fucking much.”

I was sandwiched in the middle of these two, and I felt Dane’s hand when he reached for Miles’s very erect cock, poking into my stomach. “Yeah, Mr. Famous, I know you want to fuck. So about that private place you’d like to take us. Were you all talk, or are you going to deliver?”

Miles leaned over my shoulder, and I could see him crash his lips with my husband’s in my periphery. Then when the hunky actor dropped his head to my body and scattered kisses along my chest, his smile was one I’d dub as pure evil. Snickering, Miles started, “And you call me an asshole. It’s a good thing I like an alpha male like you.” Pulling at both our arms, he led us down the outer stairwell to a villa a couple of hundred feet from the main estate. When he produced a key, my grin asked the question before my mouth had the chance to.

“Yeah, I was feeling overly confident. Thought I’d grab a room for the night just in case.”

When he opened the door, he pulled us in over the threshold, and we were instantly intertwined with one another, not a care in the world as to what tomorrow might bring.

We’re at the door after Miles admitted he was hopeful. With the key in the lock, he twisted it, and we fell in, all tangled limbs. My lips were millimeters from his lips when his fingers danced across my five o’clock shadow. “You’re one sexy man,” Miles professed.

When his fingers moved to my head, I let out a little growl. Cami’s petite little hands pushed us closer. My woman loved to watch. Oh, and how I loved to please her. “This is dangerous. You’re finding my weakness.” Besides loving a good asshole, having my head stroked brought my cock to life instantly.

“Come here, Curly Sue,” Miles crooned. “I think you’re in need of some attention, too, my beauty.” His affectionate words toward my wife not only had my cock alert, but it also pulled at my heart. I internally scolded myself. No, I’ll not get attached. This man could be our undoing, and after Jack, I didn’t think we’d be able to handle another cavernous loss.

But shit, when a man who wanted to fuck me found my wife attractive and sought to do things to her that I’d enjoy watching? Sign me the hell up.

When his spare hand worked through her curly black hair, I let my body fall back into a chair, watching this play out in front of me. Miles’s attention darted to me when Cami’s hand turned his face back to hers. I continued to wait, observing it all with gratification as the show played out in front of me for my viewing pleasure.

Miles’s face searched mine, but Cami took her fingers, moving his head to hers. “Ah, don’t worry about him, Mr. Sterling. He’ll find as much pleasure in you fucking me as he would actually doing it himself.”

With one side wink toward me, she was back at the task at hand. “So tell me, Mr. Sterling,” she pulled out her words, a seductive vibrato to them, a single finger sitting in the middle of his sexy jaw. “What is it you’d like me to do?”

Taking a step back from her, he reached out his hand, and she quickly took it. In one fluid motion, he twirled her around as if he was Fred Astaire, leaving her back flush with his front. His fingers snaked over her zipper and pulled the contraption that hid her beautiful body down quickly. Her gown pooled on the floor and left her in a strapless bra and her signature white satiny lacy thong.

As long as I’d known my wife, she had always worn the same thing, but the white satiny lacy thong was sexy as fuck, especially next to her ivory skin. “Hell, Mrs. Gregory, you’re one stunningly beautiful woman.” His lips trailed down Cami’s neck, and with his fingers, he reached inside that back part of her panties and pulled them down. “Look at your ass!” he exclaimed, stripping the thong from her body. Turning to me, he said, “She has one fine and gorgeous ass.”

I returned a matching smirk and internally laughed. “Yeah, if you think that’s beautiful, you should see her pussy.” A growl could be heard forming on his lips. In a split second, Miles twirled her around, and they were skin to skin.

“We’ve got to free the mountain range.” His voice was almost a whisper, just loud enough for me to hear. Reaching behind her back, he unlatched her bra, and it, too, fell to the floor with the rest of her clothes.

He drew her in close, embracing her in an intimate hug. Turning to look at me, he said, “I’ll treat your girl with respect and treasure every inch of her body. You tell me what you’d like to see. I’m good with anything, Sexy Lawyer Man. But you get to orchestrate what you see tonight.”

I pitched one brow higher than the other one. Oh, I liked this little game we were playing. “Anything?”

A tight smile crept onto his face. “Yeah, I’ll tell you if it’s a no-go for me, but you’d have to be digging pretty deep to find something I wouldn’t do.” Miles’s amusement was heard through his tone.

Cami’s face was as beautiful as the day I met her. I’d been dating Levi for a while. We’d invite girls to share, but we weren’t looking at adding one to our relationship permanently. But Cami swept into a bar one night when we were out partying to celebrate a big case I’d won. She came storming in with a couple of friends, ready to take on the town. We both saw her at the same time, exchanging that knowing look—one where we both knew she was our conquest. But in the morning, she didn’t leave. What was more surprising, we hadn’t wanted her to leave. She’d walked in on the two of us making love. It wasn’t hard—I loved Levi fiercely. It didn’t make her run. No, she sat there with tears rolling down her face, telling us it was the most beautiful thing she’d ever witnessed. Cami and I were older than Levi, but we’d remained a committed triad for several years. When Cam and I wanted to start a family, Levi was, too, young to commit. He did the honorable thing by giving Cami and me the ability to grow our family, but losing him was almost too much to take. Having Cami next to me as we both mourned for him made it bearable. But Jack—that was a whole other situation because we had started a family together. He not only left us, he also left our children.
